Poondu Kozhambhu - An utterly delicious, spicy, tangy and garlicky tamarind based South Indian gravy that is eaten with fresh and warm white rice for lunch/dinner. This Kozhambu belongs to the Vethakozhambu family and no points for guessing that this is my mom’s recipe 😂😂. You will simply not stop licking your fingers if you ate this Kozhambu of her’s. . . . . Steaming hot white rice with good quality sesame oil drizzled over, Vethakozhambu and chutta appalam (fire roasted pappad) is a combination to die for. I like to pour a ladle full of the Kozhambu over my yogurt rice and squeeze that 👆🏻red chili until it oozes out all the gravy it had soaked in. It is a very typical way of devouring this simple yet amazing Kozhambu that most South Indians can fondly relate to. Agree? . . . . .
